Our courses, events, presentations, and collaborations are inspired by the principles and vision of my father, Marcus Garvey. They are created by subject matter experts, researchers, and experienced teachers dedicated to educating and lifting people of African descent and humanity - in that order.

We are currently in a period of disorder that is spiraling downward with destructive effects for human beings and other occupants of planet Earth.
This is due to a paradigm of scientific materialism that is fundamentally and reductionist, out of step with ancient wisdom and the current reality of quantum knowledge.
As Carter G. Woodson told us in 1933, we have been mis-educated by the Euro-American educational system that has gained global currency.
Marcus Garvey told us in 1937 that we must “liberate our minds from mental slavery,” because while others may free the body, “none but ourselves can free the mind".
He also told us that “Education is the process by which a people are prepared for the creation of their own particular civilization and their own advancement and glory."
MISSION: Our mission in light of this is to reorient the current education system so that it guides us towards a sustainable future using twenty-first-century knowledge and scientific innovation guided by Afrocentric principles of life and living that develop the whole person -- spirit, head, and hands -- and produces young people capable of critical thinking, knowledgeable and able to live with wisdom, compassion and purpose.

Our courses are designed based on the philosphy and precepts of Marcus Garvey with the goal of addressing the needs of our students now, while addressing the urgent and persistent educational needs of our students and people.

MGEA is constantly looking for organizations and instituions who are creating educational courses and opportunities to meet the needs of our students.
Curriculum
STEM - Beginning with African contributions in agriculture, architecture, construction, medicine, engineering, mathematics, and astronomy. Continuing to include advances in computing, robotics, and artificial intelligence.
AFRICAN HISTORY- African History as world history beginning with the first civilizations of Nubia, Kemet, and Ethiopia, and including current independent African countries and the Diaspora.
PAN AFRICANISM - The understanding of the global Diaspora and our common culture as exemplified in the Nguzo Saba.These include contributions of Blyden, Garvey, Padmore, Nkrumah, and others.
ENTREPRENEURSHIP- Cooperative economics as the basis of social entrepreneurship and community development.
LEADERSHIP- Character development is the most critical asset of an individual. Leadership means service. It also means sacrifice. A strong and determined character based on MAAT is essential for servant leadership, and self-knowledge is the foundation of all knowledge and self-mastery.
AFRICAN ARTS AND CULTURE - African culture is based on the principles of MAAT and UBUNTU, which permeate our music, dance, art, and other expressions of cultural and spiritual consciousness.
